Sonly Ultra slim VAIO X notebooks

Sony has introduced Sony VAIO X ultra-slim laptop to India. The company has included two notebooks under this category namely the VPCX117LG/B and VPCX113KG/B. Sony VAIO X is considered to be the slimmest and lightest laptop in the world, it weighs only 655gms and its thin is about half an inch.

Equipped with ‘Silverthorne‘ Intel Atom processor, this ultraportable laptop comes with pre-loaded with Windows 7 Professional (32-bit). The Vaio VPCX113KG will come with a 1.8GHz Intel Atom Z540 ‘Silverthorne’ processor and 64GB SSD, while the Vaio VPCX117LG is equipped with a 2.0GHz Intel Atom Z550 processor and 128GB SSD. Featured as lower power Atom chips, both processors support Intel Virtualization as well as Hyper Threading technology.

Sony VAIO X comes with 11.1-inch LED Backlit display offering 1366×768 pixel resolution enough to playback 720p HD videos. It comes clad in flippantly brushed aluminum panel covers segregation keyboard and the palm-rest area. The graphics support is offered through Intel GMA 500 mobile integrated graphics. The Vaio X also has a built-in VGA Webcam for video chats,2GB RAM, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth, memory card readers, VGA out ports, it lacks HDMI. Both of the products offer embedded wireless LAN IEEE 802.11b/g/Draft n connectivity and come in shades of black.

The X Series touch pad uses multi-touch functionality allowing users to zoom in and out, flip through pictures, rotate items and scroll vertically and horizontally without touching a mouse. The VPCX113KG claims to offer a battery life of 3.5 hours, while the VPCX117LG (weighing 750 grams) can last for 6 hours on a single charge. Both the devices offer optional battery packs that increase this life to over 12 hours.

The VPCX117LG/B and VPCX113KG/B are priced at Rs.84,990 and Rs.64,990, respectively. Both models have one year international warranty.

Sony plans to make a big impact with this miniature series, having romped in the original size-zero, Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor as its brand ambassador. The celeb couple, Saif and Kareena, aren't new to laptops, with Saif having previously endorsed the Chinese brand 'Lenovo', which later saw a rise in its India sales.
