HTC Desire HD Android 2.2.1 System Update Available in India

There is an update available for the HTC Desire HD but hang on it is not the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update you might have hoped for. It's a tweak and bugfix update that bumps the Desire HD to Android 2.2.1, which reportedly brings improved performance too, This update was released earlier in Europe and USA, is now available in India.

I was able to update My HTC Desire HD to Android Froyo 2.2.1, this update is of 46MB in Size, make sure you have a good Internet pack before downloading this update.

The update is not too large at 46.67 MB and the software version of the handset is set to 1.84.720.3 along with Froyo turning 2.2.1. The Desire HD also seems to be running a bit faster after the update. In fact, the camera looks to have got the most out of this update and the HD Recording also looks improved, It also improves the system performance drastically which I have already noticed.

HTC Desire HD and their other desire will receive the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update though. That might take a while as HTC will have to port all sorts of custom goodies (including the extensive Sense UI, the fast boot magic, etc) to the latest version of Android OS, You might wish to use Team Revolution Custom ROM, which is built on HTC's SensUI. It is a perfect Update for HTC DHD.
