Mahindra NuvoSport launched


Mahindra and Mahindra has just launched their latest entrant for the compact SUV segment of the Indian car market. The vehicle is badged the Mahindra NuvoSport and it is now on sale with prices starting from INR 7.57 lakhs (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) onwards.

The new NuvoSport will serve as the replacement for another Mahindra compact SUV, the Quanto. Like the Quanto, the Mahindra NuvoSport will have a 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine with micro hybrid technology under its bonnet that puts out 100 bhp. It has a torque figure of 240 Nm and returns 17.45 kpl (ARAI-certified). Gear shifts will be taken care of either by a 5 speed manual transmission or an AutoShift AMT automatic.

The NuvoSport does have a certain degree of similarity in design with the Quanto, but features like the better designed front end, headlights with separate LED daytime running lights, 16 inch split 5 spoke alloys, a bonnet air intake and so on set it apart. The vehicle will be available with 6 paint colour options: Mist Silver, Molten Red, Fiery Black, Rust Orange, Diamond White and Regal Blue

NuvoSport is the fact that it is a 7 seater (5+2), despite the fact that it measures below 4 metres in length. Other equipment in this new vehicle include a 6.2 inch touchscreen infotainment system, steering mounted audio controls, Eco and Power driving modes, power adjustable rear view mirrors, a driver information system, rear parking assist, cruise control, bluetooth connectivity, ABS with EBD, anti-roll protection, high approach and departure angles, airbags for both front occupants and more. The NuvoSport is on sale in the following 6 variants (all prices are ex-showroom, Bengaluru):

N4: INR 7.57 lakhs
N4+: INR 7.89 lakhs
N6: INR 8.61 lakhs
N6 AMT: INR 9.26 lakhs
N8: INR 9.40 lakhs
N8 AMT: INR 10.05 lakhs
